What a market at 6am tells you that a museum can't

Museums tell you what a place decided to remember. Markets tell you what it actually does on a Tuesday.
We are not against museums. We are against the idea that a museum is the responsible, cultural option and everything else is entertainment.
A market at dawn is a live document. Who is buying, who is selling, who is trusted with credit, what is in season, what is expensive this month and why. You learn more about a valley's economy in forty minutes there than in a week of reading.
Bring no shopping list. Buy breakfast. Stand somewhere out of the way and just watch for ten minutes before you do anything else.
